Fence mesh – assembly

28 September 2022

The installation of the fence mesh is not too complicated, the only problem may arise with the unevenness of the terrain. However, it is worth remembering about some basic activities.

1) Leveling the terrain

Before performing the entire operation, the area should be cleared of all unnecessary elements, and then the fence should be demarcated. Then you need to dig holes in which the posts will be attached.

2) Embedding the posts and pouring concrete

The posts should be set at the same height and depth. Then pour concrete over them. In the case of a light fence, you do not need to build full foundations – point ones are enough to attach the posts. Usually, they are placed at a distance of about 2 – 2.5 m and concreted to a depth of about 0.3 – 0.5 m. When installing, it is worth using a cement mortar with sand and gravel and mix the whole with water.

Some people decide to make a foundation in advance in order to strengthen the structure of the entire fence. Then you need to dig the foundations to a depth of about 1 m, and then make a pedestal that should protrude 30 cm above the ground.

Before the concrete sets, it is worth checking the plumb. When we want a very stable structure, it is worth adding one buttress to the initial posts, and two to the intermediate posts. The concrete itself dries for about 3-4 days. In order not to cause any damage, it is worth covering it with an insulating foil.
