Fence posts 2 m
Fence posts 2 m – for panel and mesh fences
Metal posts are an integral part of standard, lightweight mesh and panel fences. These are strong supports that bear the entire weight of the fence and connect the structure to the ground. The posts have different heights, adapted to the specificity of the fence and the depth of the excavation. When, why and what to choose a 2 m post to build a fence? We advise.
Fence posts – the most important functions
Fence posts perform several very important functions. Their primary task is to support the fence, gate and wicket. They are also used for stretching individual sections of the mesh or fixing individual panel spans. Various mounting accessories (clamps, holders, tension rods) can be installed on each post, thanks to which the assembly work is carried out quickly and efficiently.
Metal fence posts are both a structural and decorative element. Together with the mesh or openwork fencing panels, they should form a visually attractive whole. They significantly affect the aesthetics of the fence and the entire yard. The posts, selected in the appropriate color and height, emphasize the modern character of the property.
Universal fence posts for 2 m mesh
Fences around private and commercial properties are usually of a standard height of 1.2 m or 1.5 m, and the depth of the holes for posts is on average 50-80 cm, depending on the type of ground. For the installation of such a fence, it is best to use a 2 m high post – it fits most fencing materials available on the market, such as mesh or galvanized panels.
Whatever the target height of the fence is, the 2m post can be used for both high and low fences, and for shallow and deep holes. These universal props simply need to be hardened with dry concreto, aggregates, fixing compounds or steel anchors. 2 m posts fit all prefabricated connectors and foundations.
2 m post – which one to choose for mesh and panel fencing?
2 m fence posts are available in different variants: they can have a circular or rectangular cross-section. Metal round pipes are usually used to install mesh fences, and rectangular profiles are used to build panel fences. Manufacturers offer two-meter posts with or without caps, with different wall thicknesses, for example:
– 1.25 mm,
– 1.3 mm,
– 1.5 mm,
– 2 mm.
The thicker the wall of the post, the better it will withstand heavy loads, so it is worth paying attention to this important detail when purchasing the fence.
Pipes sold in the form of 2 m round posts are available in several standard diameters (fi): 42 mm, 48 mm, 50 mm and in other sizes, adapted to various original fencing systems. Typical 2-meter fence profiles have a cross-section of 60 mm x 40 mm. The universal size makes them compatible with most of the 1.5 m system panels available in Poland in the 2 D or 3 D version.
2 m metal posts: galvanized or powder coated?
Metal profiles and pipes for the installation of the fence should have an anti-corrosion layer. How do manufacturers protect 2m posts from rust? For this purpose, they use:
– zinc coatings,
– powder coating,
– galvanizing and varnish.
The cheapest fence posts have one layer of zinc – these are usually used to build fences around parking lots, institutions or playgrounds. More expensive poles, galvanized and powder coated, are more aesthetic and look great on private properties.
Galvanization of metal poles is now standard and most manufacturers provide it. Zinc makes the profiles and pipes serve for many years and no signs of corrosion are visible on them. If the fence is representative, it is worth choosing 2 m double-layer posts: galvanized and varnished in green, anthracite, black, graphite or brown.
Custom 2m posts for mesh fencing
The installation of the fencing mesh is not easy, so many experienced fitters order the production of non-standard 2 m posts in order to be able to erect the fence efficiently. What distinguishes pipes manufactured to individual order? These are bars that have:
– additional nuts for attaching rods or tension wire,
– welded protective caps (canopies),
– ready, drilled holes for screws,
– any wall thickness and diameter.
2 m posts for fastening stock fence
Metal posts are not suitable for the installation of temporary fences because they are too expensive and their installation is time-consuming. As an alternative, it is worth choosing 2 m wooden stamps. It is enough to impregnate them, dig them into the ground to a depth of 50 cm, and then harden and fix them with staples in a standard 1.5 m high stock fence mesh.
What are the best wooden posts for forest netting? These are pine stamps stripped of bark, carefully dried and unused, on which there should be no traces of bark beetles or rot. Where to buy the right punches for the fence? Two-meter poles with a diameter of 10-12 cm can be purchased both from fencing manufacturers and at a sawmill.
