Installation of the fence mesh – step by step

Where to start installing the mesh?

First: Site Preparation

Before starting the actual work, it is necessary to properly prepare the place where the mesh is to be ultimately placed. For this, it is necessary to remove all obstacles in this area. All vegetation as well as stones, sticks and other elements from the planned fence line should be removed. It is also necessary to mark the course of the net, you can use a string for this purpose.

Second: Embedding the posts

Fence posts are usually installed 2.5 m apart. This is the optimal distance that will allow the tension wire to be stretched easily and not excessively increase the investment costs. It is necessary to dig an appropriate number of holes with a diameter of about 30 cm and a depth of about 50 cm. After this is done, you can start introducing the corner and initial fence posts, and then the intermediate posts. The elements placed in the well should be poured with concrete to ensure greater stability of the entire structure. With a 1.5 meter high net, choose posts half a meter higher.

Third: Align the bars

Before the poured concrete starts to set, all elements should be leveled. For this purpose, it is best to align all fence posts to one line at the top marked by a string or a masonry line. To ensure that all components are properly plumbed, place them using a spirit level. In order for all elements to remain in the same position, it is necessary to support them.

Fourth: Fastening the tension wires

Attach the tension wire when the concrete sets properly. Usually, this activity is performed three days after the fence posts have been leveled. We start the process with a starting or corner element. A distance of 50 cm is recommended between the individual wires. It is necessary to install appropriate tensioners on individual poles, at the height at which the tension wires will run. After assembling them, you can start leading the wire, remembering to stretch it at both ends, where it will be installed. This reduces the risk of the net breaking.

Fifth: Attaching the net

After installing the tension wire, you can proceed to the installation of the fence mesh. Begin the process with a starting or corner post. At the beginning it is necessary to put the tension wire through the first meshes of the mesh and put it on the previously installed tensioners or using a stranding rod. Then, the fence mesh can be rolled out and fastened successively to the consecutive posts. Before installing it to the next elements, the mesh should be properly stretched so that it is well tensioned, thanks to which it will be more resistant to deformation and deformation.

Sixth: Finishing

The installation of the entire fence mesh does not mean the end of the works. To ensure adequate stability, the whole must now be attached to the tensioning wire previously installed. Therefore, the edges should be braided on the extreme tension wires.

What is worth remembering?

The forest mesh is not installed in the same way as the fence mesh, as it usually has leading wires. When attaching it to the posts, pull it and pay attention to the accuracy of the installation – the stability of the whole depends on it.
