MOUNTING THE FENCING NET. What do you need to know?

23 October 2022

The simplest solutions are sometimes the best, or at least we really want them to be. In the case of fences, today we have many options, because the market provides consumers with access to excellent services in the field of aesthetic and functional fencing assembly. However, the facts are that the more structurally sophisticated a fence is, the more expensive it will be. The installation of a fence mesh on this background is a technically simple alternative, and at the same time saves money. And these advantages cannot be ignored.

Installation of a mesh fence – cheap and effective

For mesh fencing, we don’t necessarily need to turn to a professional company to enjoy a good effect. The activities are so simple that we can do them ourselves, although it will require a certain amount of work. The most important three elements that we must have at our disposal are the mesh itself, the posts and the tensioners for the fence mesh. This is the absolute minimum with which we can construct the simplest fencing. Of course, nothing prevents you from reaching for more advanced options.

Fence mesh – its assembly does not take much time, because the material is easy to “use”. The net itself is usually sold in rolls. It has a low own weight, which helps to cope with transport and subsequent unwinding of the net during work. In addition to the three basic items that you must have, it is also advisable to use tension wires and tension rods. Corner posts and intermediate posts are also worth having at hand. With such a set of accessories, fixing the mesh fence should not be a problem.

How to install a fence mesh to make the whole thing aesthetic?

It’s hard to deny that a wire mesh fence will never be the prettiest. Even more so, it should not look sloppy. With a little work, you can make the visuals quite positive. Correct tensioning of the fence mesh is of great importance, thanks to posts, wires and rods. Naturally, the net tensioner as a working element is also engaged at this point. As standard, the tensioners are offered in a galvanized version, and made of steel and cast iron. Green painted models are available to make them less visible against the green mesh background.

Tensioning the mesh is based on the tension wire that should be on the top, middle and bottom of the fence. In turn, the pretensioners are used on the starting and corner posts – there is no need to install them on intermediate posts. First you need to install the mesh tensioners and rods, then take care of the wire (the latter should be installed starting from the bottom). The tensioning bolt must be tightened evenly on both sides, therefore the task should be performed by two people. The installation of the fence mesh is completed by attaching it to the tension wires – especially at the top and bottom of the whole.
