STOCK FENCE MESH ASSEMBLY
STOCK FENCE MESH ASSEMBLY – DO IT YOURSELF!
No special skills or special tools are needed to assemble the forest net. We mount the mesh on wooden or metal posts. The whole process can be divided into several stages.
Choice of posts and mesh
The first step is to purchase the right type of mesh and posts. L and M meshes differ in terms of parameters and purpose. The M mesh is recommended for protection against heavier animals, while the L mesh is lighter and protects against lighter animals.
The next step is to choose the posts. Metal posts are much more durable than wooden ones. They also have special handles to facilitate assembly. The disadvantage of steel poles may be their higher price.
Digging in the posts
The first stage of assembly is ground leveling. Then we dig in and harden the posts. In the case of steel posts, it is advisable to concret them. The corner posts are the first to be placed. They should be dug 70-80 centimeters deep and armed with diagonal supports. Then we measure the distance between the corner posts and divide them into evenly sections. In this way, we will designate places for intermediate posts, which we dig in to a depth of approx. 50 centimeters. Depending on the terrain, the posts should be placed at a distance of 2.5 to 5 meters. The most recommended distance is 3 meters.
Mounting the mesh
The net is attached to the wooden posts with the so-called staples or nails bent in the letter “U”. Metal posts have special mounting brackets. The net can be tightened by hand or with the use of stretchers. Tensioners are strips with a tensioning bolt and a wire interlacing eyelet. First, we assemble the tension wires. We start at the bottom, passing the wire ends through the eyelets of the tensioners. Then turn the screw to tighten the wire. Fasten the taut wire to the intermediate posts with fastening bands. Then we stretch the net. For this purpose, we place the tension bars in the upper and lower parts of the mesh. We put the entire structure on the prepared tensioners. There should be tension bars at each start post and on both sides of the corner posts. We remember to stretch the mesh during the entire assembly. We make sure that the guide wires can move horizontally to prevent the mesh from breaking.
