Wire mesh fence – how densely to put posts?

12 July 2021

Mesh fencing is a very common choice for fencing an area. The biggest advantages of this type of fence are low construction costs and the possibility of self-assembly. Before starting work, however, it will be necessary to carefully measure the area and plan the entire structure. It is particularly important how many meters of fencing mesh you should buy and what number of mounting posts to choose. We advise at what distances to place the posts from each other.

At what distances from each other should the intermediate posts be placed?

One of the basic elements of the mesh fence is intermediate posts. It is recommended to place them at a distance of about 2.5 m from each other. The possible deviation is 0.5 m to each side. The intermediate posts are located between the starting and corner posts. It is from them that the distance of 2.5 m should be determined.

Installation of support posts

The support posts determine the stability and strength of the entire fence. Deciding on them makes sense in the case of fences whose length exceeds 25 meters. In this case, support posts with double struts should be spaced just every 25 meters to strengthen the entire structure.

How to choose the height of the bars?

Fence posts used in mesh fences may also differ in height. The choice of appropriate solutions should depend mainly on the type of assembly we decide on. In the case of posts embedded in the foundation or concrete, their height should exceed the height of the fence itself by 25-30 cm. When installing the posts directly in the ground, their height should be 50 cm greater than the height of the fence.

Correct assembly guarantees durability

The use of correct assembly techniques is a guarantee that the fence will be very durable and can be used as a permanent solution. It will be able to withstand adverse weather conditions, and the maintenance of this type of fence is extremely simple.
